Caribbean Holiday (flac file)

This is a tune that came to me while I was on a holiday in the Caribbean. Hence, the title "Caribbean Holiday". I purposefully kept the instrumentation simple: an acoustic jazz quartet with incidental percussion. It was fun working out a complete arrangement in my head first and then recording all the parts after arriving home.

Inspired by my black cats and the signature song for my label, Black Cat Central Music, "Black Cat Groove" is an original soul-jazz tune written on the Hammond B3 organ. I decided to write a tune for the B3 organ since many of my previous tunes had been written on the Rhodes or the piano. The tune is a playful groove that mimics the playful antics of my cats.

Are you struggling with despair, fear, anger, isolation and loneliness? Perhaps you feel tossed about by the storm of events in your life.
But Jesus is with us, even in the midst of the storm. He is like the trunk of a great tree, grounded, not breaking. We just have to hold on to Him.
